Throughout 70 years, the Aspen Institute has established itself as an organization committed to the formation and consolidation of leaders capable of promoting initiatives and public policies, through the participation of specialists with the most diverse perspectives and approaches.

HISTORY

The Aspen Institute (Aspen Institute) was founded in the United States in 1949 by Chicago businessman Walter Paepcke, along with a group of visionary leaders who believed that strengthening values and promoting dialogue are the foundation for building a better society.

Since its founding in 1948, the Aspen Institute has promoted different activities, always aimed at helping to face the greatest challenges of our times. We are an organization that today works in 14 countries, bringing together leaders from different backgrounds, encouraging them to develop initiatives that contribute to building a better society. Through a proven method, our goal is to create a space that is safe, open, and free of ideological bias, where participants can share and listen to divergent perspectives in confidence. Promoting an open and deep dialogue, we bring together people with different experiences and visions –sometimes contradictory– always around the question: how can we achieve a better society? Through seminars like this one, Aspen aims to encourage all spheres of society to reflect together on the values that guide our lives and govern the performance of our responsibilities.

Aspen Institute Colombia

The Aspen Institute Colombia was established in January 2020 with the goal of promoting conscious leadership in Colombian society. This initiative was launched through the efforts of a group of prominent leaders from politics, business, academia, media, and non-profit organizations. The Aspen Institute Colombia is dedicated to creating spaces for respectful dialogue, bringing together diverse leaders from Colombian society. Using classic texts and moderated through the Socratic method, they discuss in depth the country's main human, social, and political challenges. The Aspen Institute Colombia seeks to generate valuable conversations around the question, "How can we build a better society for Colombia?" These conversations require a greater understanding of diverse perspectives, the search for common values, and the generation of some agreements, without necessarily seeking consensus.
